MAIARA: Rooted in Nature's Wisdom

Hello, dear reader. 

There’s something magical about returning to the land of our birth. This connection to our roots, to nature and to the history we carry within us. At TARBAY we felt the call to return to the essential, to celebrate the wisdom of our ancestors and the sacred bond with the environment around us. This is how MAIARA was born. 

This new collection is a tribute to Mother Nature, an adventure that invites us to explore the cultural richness of Margarita Island while embracing the heritage of our ancestors, the Guaiqueríes. Maiara, a word in the Guaiquerí language that evokes wisdom, encapsulates what we want to convey: a deep respect for the balance between life, the earth and our own being. 

The colors of this collection reflect the natural environment that surrounds us. Copper reminiscent of indigenous skin and paint, black as a symbol of protection, and creamy tones reminiscent of pearls and shells form a palette that connects us to our deepest roots. Each piece is designed to carry the essence of our island, our women and the history that defines us.  

At MAIARA, we’ve worked with our talented artisans who, through their hands, recreate the tradition and wisdom that has been passed down from generation to generation. Each piece is imbued with this dedication, a constant reminder of the importance of preserving the essential, of always returning to the source, to the earth. 

But MAIARA is much more than a collection. It’s a celebration of who we are. It’s a tribute to the women who have come before us, to the stories that live on in our hearts, and to the beauty we find in nature when we look closely. We want each piece to be an invitation to rediscover that connection with what surrounds us, to remember that in the simple and natural lies the truly sublime.  

We go on this journey not only to create, but to honor. To transmit the ancestral wisdom that is still alive in every element that surrounds us. Because at TARBAY, we believe that true elegance lies in knowing where we come from and how to use that wisdom to move forward.
